Rita Yung
Rita Yung founded Down the Rabbit Hole in 2024 to create a unique space for music education and exploration. She is currently pursuing her Doctoral degree in Music Composition at the University of Toronto. She received her Master of Music in Composition from the University of Texas at Austin, a Master’s degree in Music Technology and Digital Media from the University of Toronto, and her Bachelor of Music degree from Hong Kong Baptist University. As a pianist and music educator, Yung received her Associate Diploma in Piano Performance from Trinity College London (ATCL) and majored in piano while studying for her B.A. degree. As a composer, Yung enjoys working with both acoustic and electronic music, with her works being featured worldwide in concerts and conferences.​

Jessica Lin
Jessica Lin (Chia-ying Lin) is a musician active internationally as a soloist and orchestral performer.
Originally from Taiwan, she began playing the piano at the age of 10 and took up the horn at the age of 15. Lin earned her Graduate Diploma from McGill University and the Conservatoire de Musique de Montréal. She also completed her Master's degree at the University of Texas at Austin. As an orchestral player, Lin has toured Europe and the USA with the Asian Youth Orchestra, representing Taiwan on the international stage. She has also been invited to perform as an extra and substitute horn player with several professional orchestras in both Taiwan and Canada.

Teresa Tucci
Teresa Tucci is a passionate artist with a rich array of skills in the performing arts. She holds an Artist Diploma in Operatic Performance from the University of Toronto, a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the New England Conservatory, and an Honours Bachelor of Musical Theatre Performance from Sheridan College. Throughout her career, Teresa has graced numerous stages across North America, showcasing her talents in both operatic and musical performances. Her versatility also encompasses appearances in Canadian and American television series. Actively engaged in the entertainment industry, Teresa continually refines her craft and dedicates herself to mentoring emerging artists. She cultivates a supportive environment, focusing on healthy vocal technique and authentic storytelling through various pieces. Teresa encourages her students to explore diverse musical genres, aiding them in discovering their unique abilities. Her ultimate aim is to empower students to build confidence and enhance their artistry, guiding them on their artistic journeys.

Violin & Viola Teacher
Carmen Kwok
Carmen Kwok graduated from the Music Department of Hong Kong Baptist University (BA), majoring in violin and music education. Studied under the guidance of Ray Tsoi. During the course of study, served as a violinist and violist in the HKBU Symphony Orchestra and Collegium Musicum Hong Kong, respectively.
Carmen has a deep passion for music education, with over ten years of teaching experience. She excels in communicating with students, helping them discover and nurture their innate musical potential. Her students consistently achieve outstanding results in both individual and group classes. Over the years, her students have received numerous awards in various exams and competitions, and some have pursued music degree programs locally and abroad. In terms of group classes, she led Sacred Heart Canossian School and Grantham College of Education Past Students' Association Whampoa Primary School to win the gold medal in the chamber music ensemble category at the 2023 Joint Schools Music Competition.
Her teaching philosophy is tailored instruction, treating each student-uniquely. Her goal is to foster a genuine love for music in her students and provide them with meaningful experiences and achievements in their musical journey.

Piano Teacher
Elliot Shen
Elliot is a versatile pianist with a rich background in classical and contemporary music. Currently
pursuing a Master of Music in Piano Performance at the University of Toronto, she brings a
comprehensive understanding of music pedagogy, performance, and technology to her
teaching. Elliot holds a Bachelor of Music from Mannes School of Music, where she also
developed skills in Immersive Storytelling, enabling her to connect with students in unique and
engaging ways.

With extensive experience performing in diverse settings, from solo recitals to chamber
ensembles, she has collaborated with various musicians, showcasing her adaptability across
different musical genres. Her multimedia expertise, combined with her knowledge of piano
technology and chamber coaching, allows her to create a dynamic learning environment that
goes beyond traditional classical instruction. Moreover, Elliot is proficient in incorporating
storytelling and modern media techniques into her teaching, ensuring that students gain a
holistic and enriching musical education.

environment that encourages creativity, growth, and a deep appreciation for music. Her goal is

Clarinet & Piano Teacher
Yen-Han Chen
In 2023, Yen-Han Chen received a Master's degree in Music from the University of British Columbia, studying under the renowned clarinet soloist Jose Franch-Ballester. Currently pursuing an Artist Diploma at the Glenn Gould School in Toronto, mentored by Joaquin Valdepeñas, the former principal clarinetist of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra.
Before studying abroad, Chen attended National University of Tainan in Taiwan, winning a concerto competition and performing Louis Spohr's Second Clarinet Concerto with the university orchestra. In 2018, he reached the finals of the Buffet Asia Pacific Clarinet Competition. Apart from academics, Chen has taught at various Vancouver music institutions and organizes annual concerts in Wesbrook Village. In 2022, he joined Canada's National Academy Orchestra as a clarinetist, completing eleven concerts in Ontario.

Guitar Teacher
Uyen Trinh
Uyen is a dedicated music educator, performer, and event organizer with a passion for making music accessible to students of all ages and abilities. Holding a degree in Media Arts from York University, specializing in music production, Uyen combines technical expertise with a student-centred teaching approach.
As a private and group music instructor, Uyen has taught guitar and piano at various music centres, helping students develop foundational skills, explore diverse musical genres, and prepare for performances. With professional training in electric guitar, Uyen also provides private lessons tailored to individual learning goals, ensuring that everyone can connect, learn, and showcase their talents.
Beyond teaching, Uyen has also actively contributed to Toronto’s music community by organizing gigs and jam sessions for all-ability individuals and young children such as “Accessible Music Jam for Adults” hosted by Music Salon or “Music by the Water” by Art and Water. As a concert coordinator, Uyen has experience in event planning, stage setup, and artist support, ensuring seamless performances and engagement opportunities for all musicians.
And when it comes to performing, she has played at numerous local gigs and shows, bringing energy and creativity to every stage. Passionate about both teaching and performing, Uyen strives to inspire students to develop confidence in their musical journey while fostering a love for music that lasts forever.

Roan Ma
Roan Ma is a multi-faceted musician passionate about creating space within the classical music world where diverse voices are represented. Roanreceived her Bachelors and Masters degrees from the Manhattan School of Music, graduating with the 2018 Commencement Award for Outstanding Achievement in Chamber Music. She then received a Masters in Music Education from Columbia University's Teachers College in 2020. Roan has taught violin, viola, and piano in private, group, and classroom settings. Currently, Roan is pursuing a Doctoral degree at the University of Toronto.

Maicon Lopes
Maicon Lopes, a versatile musician and dedicated educator, was born in Porto Alegre, Brazil. His musical journey began in his teenage years, where he showcased adeptness with the guitar. Further enriching his musical prowess, Maicon studied at EST in Sao Leopoldo, Brazil. At 27, he pursued a music education degree in Porto Alegre at IPA, further solidifying his commitment to musical growth and pedagogical excellence.

Maicon’s teaching philosophy sets him apart. With over 15 years of experience, he has taught music to diverse audiences through group lessons, private instruction, cultural projects, community endeavors, and numerous performances. Currently based in Toronto, he shares his profound knowledge of music styles from Brazil with students in the city.

His approach is rooted in individualism, customizing instruction to align with students’ values, interests, and aspirations. Maicon excels at identifying their passions and tailoring repertoire accordingly. His legacy as a multifaceted artist and educator resonates through his unwavering dedication to nurturing musical talent, both in his performances and his transformative teaching approach.

Piano Teacher
Christina Ye ah Lee
Christina Ye ah Lee began studying piano in her youth, developing a passion for music and achieving success in various competitions early on. She earned first-place awards for her performances of Beethoven and Bach at the Kiwanis Music Festival in Greater Toronto. Additionally, she received first-class honors in the RCM Theory examination. Christina pursued her studies at York University, where she became interested in music education. With over seven years of teaching experience with children and young people, she enjoys sharing her love for music with others.

Piano Teacher
Annie Zhang
Annie Zhang is an accomplished piano teacher with extensive experience working with students of all skill levels, from complete beginners to advanced, including those with ADHD and behavioral challenges. Recognized for her strong teaching and communication skills, she was promoted to lead teacher within just two weeks at her previous piano academy. Known for her patient, passionate, and positive approach, Annie creates a supportive and motivating learning environment. She designs lessons to meet each student’s needs—the more personalized, the better, is her teaching philosophy. She has built a strong rapport with students, parents, and colleagues, with her previous Director inviting her to perform original compositions at his wedding.

As a 5x Gold Medalist, 2x Silver, and 1x Bronze at the MusicFest Piano Competitions, Annie also received a piano scholarship and was featured in a professional photoshoot. With her competition experience, Annie can help students prepare for their own piano competitions, providing valuable guidance on performance and technique.

Clarinet, Piano & Theory Teacher
Craig Swink
Craig Swink is a clarinetist based in Washington, D.C., and Toronto. In 2024, he won a position in the "President’s Own" United States Marine Band after a competitive three-round audition. That same year, he completed a fellowship with the National Orchestral Institute under Marin Alsop, performing as principal clarinetist in Mahler’s Symphony No. 1 at the Ravinia Festival. Craig is a passionate educator, teaching piano, clarinet, and music theory, and has led masterclasses at Chicago’s Seminario Ravinia.
He holds degrees from the University of Michigan and Interlochen Arts Academy and is currently pursuing an Artist Diploma at the Royal Conservatory of Music, studying with Joaquin Valdepeñas.
